1. Quel/quelle/quels/quelles all mean WHAT and are used in questions or exclamations.  
Can you come up with a sentence for each one of these? Here are some examples to get you thinking: 
EX: Quel âge as-tu? (age is masculine, singular so quel is as well), Quelle heure est-il? (heure is feminine, singular), Quels sont tes sports préférés? (sports is masculine, plural), Quelles belles filles! (filles is feminine, plural)

2. Finish peer reviewing a friend's penpal letter- I will NOT be making any corrections to the letters before they are sent out. When all corrections have been made and the letter is neatly written, please submit the letter to me.  ALL letters MUST be in to me by today as they will be sent in the mail after school.  

4. Students who finish their penpal letters early will be doing a web search on some French community center websites.  They will complete a worksheet called "Les Activités Amusants"

1. Match the correct adjective with it's definition in english

2. Peer edit a sample letter to a penpal that contains many common errors that are often made in writing.  They should evaluate the letter and make ALL corrections they think are necessary.  

3. Have your first draft of your "Family" penpal letter Peer Edited.  Make all necessary changes.  Your final written draft (of at least 100 words) to be mailed to your penpal is due: Vendredi le 25 janvier!!

Today: brainstormed the elements letters should contain & spent time writing letters to penpals.

In class today we brainstormed topics for penpal letters, here are some ideas we came up with: 

Everyday life in France/US, Hobbies, School- a typical day, Family, Friends, Vacation, Holidays, Work/Job, Future plans, the french student's English, Food: Where do they like to eat, what is a typical meal?, Culture, What is strange about the US?, What is the meaning of life?, Evolution, Faith, TV shows/movies/habits, Have you ever climbed the Eiffel tower? Spent much time in Paris? What do you do there?, Where do you shop?, What are some popular bands in france? Which ones do you listen to?

We also reviewed the verbs: Vouloir-to want, Pouvoir-to be able to & Devoir- Should, must

Today marks the end of our first semester and the last chance for students to turn in any late or missing work.  It is the completion of our Novel Study on the book: "Le Nouvel Houdini".  

While it may be the end of a semester, language continues to build... so keep up the hard work.  Looking forward to a great second semester. Students will note that many of the things we were learning about in "Le Nouvel Houdini", we will be spending a bit longer studying in more detail. as we begin semester 2
